Battery degradation

⚠ Earpiece replacement and Face ID — the critical connection on iPhone 12 Pro
The earpiece speaker flex on the iPhone 12 Pro is directly connected to the Face ID TrueDepth assembly. Replacing the earpiece without correctly preserving and retransferring the original Face ID components destroys Face ID permanently. We always perform earpiece replacement under microscope, preserving the TrueDepth components and restoring Face ID correctly.
If your 12 Pro's Face ID failed immediately after an earpiece repair at another shop, bring it in — we diagnose whether JCID recovery is possible. R1,500 if fixable.
⚠ AP/RF board solder weakness — No SIM, Wi-Fi failure after drops
The stainless steel frame on the iPhone 12 Pro transfers drop stress to the board more than aluminium-framed models. The AP/RF board solder connections fail after significant drops, producing No SIM, No Service, or greyed-out Wi-Fi. Micro-soldering repair — free diagnostic before any quote.

Apple issued a service programme specifically for the iPhone 12 Pro top speaker. A batch of units suffer from distorted, muffled, or completely absent sound from the earpiece during phone calls — not caused by user damage but a manufacturing defect in the speaker module itself.
Check eligibility: Visit support.apple.com and enter your iPhone 12 Pro serial number to confirm if your device qualifies for the service programme. Eligible devices qualify for free repair within the programme window.
iAssist repair: If your device is outside the programme window or does not qualify, we replace the top speaker / earpiece module for R1,000. The repair requires careful handling of the Face ID TrueDepth assembly — performed under microscope to preserve Face ID in every case.

My iPhone 12 Pro earpiece was replaced and now Face ID doesn't work — is that fixable?
Yes, in most cases. The earpiece flex on the 12 Pro carries the Face ID TrueDepth connections. Damage during replacement breaks Face ID. JCID tag on flex method — R1,500 if fixable. Free diagnostic first. No charge if IR camera failure makes it unrecoverable.
Why does my iPhone 12 Pro screen have a green tint in certain lighting?
A known OLED display characteristic on some 12 Pro panels — particularly visible at low brightness. If it appeared without physical damage, it's a panel defect not caused by the user. Screen replacement resolves it.

Is glass-only refurbishment recommended on the iPhone 12 Pro screen?
Yes where the OLED panel is working correctly. Preserves the original Apple-calibrated Super Retina XDR panel and saves significantly vs full replacement. We assess burn-in and panel condition during the diagnostic before recommending.
My iPhone 12 Pro is stuck in iTunes mode — NAND or software?
If restore fails repeatedly with error 4013 or 9, it's NAND flash storage failure — not software. We replace using the P15 programmer. 256GB upgrade recommended while the board is open.
Does the stainless steel frame on the iPhone 12 Pro cause any repair complications?
Yes — the stainless steel frame is heavier and transfers stress to the board more than aluminium during drops. Board solder connection failures are slightly more common on the 12 Pro than the standard 12. This is why the AP/RF board fault is worth knowing about on this model.
Is it worth repairing an iPhone 12 Pro in 2026?
