How we do it
iPhone Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are handled by a combined WLAN/BT module soldered to the logic board. Failure presents as Wi-Fi not connecting, weak signal at close range, Bluetooth devices pairing but immediately disconnecting, or complete absence of both radios in Settings. The module failure is typically thermal — overheating during heavy use or charging — or physical from a drop or liquid ingress.
Antenna fault is equally common and easier to fix: the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth antennas are routed through the chassis via flex cables, and a loose or torn antenna flex produces identical symptoms to a failed module. iAssist differentiates between module failure and antenna fault before quoting — antenna repair is straightforward, module replacement is board-level work.
Wi-Fi greyed out in Settings

Bluetooth and Wi-Fi both failed simultaneously
Both radios on one chip — simultaneous failure indicates module fault rather than two independent issues. WLAN/BT module replacement.
Weak Wi-Fi — drops at 2 metres
Full signal at the router but poor at normal distance. Antenna flex loose or partially torn. Often resolves with antenna flex reconnection or replacement.
Bluetooth connects then drops
Pairs successfully but audio device or accessory drops within seconds. Antenna issue or thermal throttling in the BT radio.
Wi-Fi after liquid damage
Liquid ingress near the WLAN module is a common damage pattern. Board clean and module assessment before replacement.
GPS not working
GPS is routed through the same antenna assembly on most models. GPS failure alongside Wi-Fi/BT issues points to antenna assembly fault.

My iPhone Wi-Fi is greyed out — is that a software fix?
No. Wi-Fi greyed out is a hardware fault. No software reset, iOS restore, or factory reset resolves a hardware Wi-Fi fault. Micro-soldering board repair is required.
My iPhone Bluetooth has completely disappeared from Settings — what is that?
Wi-Fi and Bluetooth share the same chip on iPhones. When the chip or board connections fail, both can disappear simultaneously. One micro-soldering repair restores both.
My iPhone 12 Mini shows No SIM and no Wi-Fi after a drop — are those related?
Yes — both are caused by the same AP/RF board solder joint failure. The 12 Mini's compact board flexes more than other 12 series models. One board-level reball typically resolves both faults.
Can a Wi-Fi fault be caused by the antenna, not the chip?
Yes — loose antenna connections can cause weak or absent Wi-Fi. We check antenna connections first. If antennas are intact and Wi-Fi is still greyed out, the chip or solder joints are the fault.
My iPhone's Wi-Fi range is much shorter than it used to be — is that a fault?
Reduced range can indicate a partially damaged RF chip or loose antenna connection. Antenna cleaning or re-seating sometimes resolves range issues before chip-level repair is needed.
Will a factory reset fix greyed-out Wi-Fi?
No. Factory reset removes data — it doesn't repair hardware. If Wi-Fi is greyed out before the reset, it will be greyed out after.
How long does Wi-Fi / Bluetooth repair take?
