How we do it
iPhone logic board repair is component-level work under a stereo microscope — replacing individual ICs, capacitors, resistors, and power rails rather than the whole board. The logic board carries the A-series processor, RAM, cellular modem, Wi-Fi/Bluetooth IC, power management IC, audio codec, and NAND flash storage. Each can fail independently.
iAssist performs micro-soldering using JBC and Quick stations with hot air rework, flux, and fine-pitch BGA reballing equipment. We diagnose using DC power supply current injection, thermal imaging, and schematic reference before quoting. No-power, charging IC failure, Touch IC failure, NAND failure, and post-liquid corrosion are the most common board-level faults we repair successfully.
No power — dead iPhone
Won't turn on, no response to charging, no boot attempt. DC power supply measurement identifies whether current is being drawn and where the short or open circuit is.
iPhone 15/16 stuck at 1% — no touch
Hydra charging IC (U9500) failure. Specific to the 15 and 16 series USB-C charging architecture. Board-level IC replacement resolves.
Boot loop — won't stay on

What does logic board repair actually mean?

My iPhone won't turn on — is that always a logic board fault?
Not always. A depleted battery, blown backlight IC, or connector issue can all cause no-power. We check simple causes first before escalating to board-level diagnosis.
My iPhone fails restore with error 4013 — is that the logic board?
Error 4013 on repeated restores indicates NAND flash storage failure. The chip is worn and cannot complete the iOS write. We replace NAND using the P15 programmer and recommend 256GB upgrade at the same time.
What is the P15 NAND programmer?
A specialist tool that reads and writes the device's unique identifiers (serial number, Wi-Fi MAC address, baseband data) to the replacement NAND chip. Without correct programming, the device won't activate.
My iPhone X touchscreen stopped working after a drop — screen or board?
If a brand new screen shows the same no-touch problem, it's the board. The Meson touch IC on the X/XS logic board loses BGA solder connections from drop impact — a reball restores touch.
Is logic board repair worth it on an older iPhone?
Depends on fault complexity and device value to you. NAND on an iPhone 11 — very worthwhile. Complex multi-IC damage on an iPhone 8 — harder to justify. We give honest cost-vs-value guidance.
What is BGA reball?
Ball Grid Array reball: IC chip removed, old solder cleaned from chip and board pads, fresh solder balls applied, chip reflowed back into position. Restores cracked or failed solder joints.
Do you offer no-fix no-charge on logic board repairs?
We do not charge for repair attempts where the fault cannot be resolved. We assess, quote, and only proceed with your agreement. If unsuccessful, no labour charged.
