My Series 6 screen is lifting — what should I do?
Stop wearing it immediately. A lifting screen on Series 6 means the battery has swollen, which is a fire and chemical hazard. Don't try to push the screen back down. Bring it to us within 24 hours for safe removal of the swollen cell, replacement battery, and case reseal. Pricing is R1,300 for battery + standard reseal; we charge no extra for swollen battery handling.
My blood oxygen readings stopped working — fault or normal?
Likely sensor failure. Series 6 was the first with blood oxygen, and 5+ years of UV and skin exposure can degrade the photodiode. If readings are consistently unavailable or wildly inaccurate (eg showing 80% when you're healthy), back glass replacement at R1,000 with sensor recalibration restores function.
Is Series 6 still worth fixing at 5 years?
Single battery replacement at R1,300 is clearly worth it. Battery + charging coil at R2,400 is still good value vs replacement. Multiple major faults (battery + screen + sensors) at R3,500+ becomes borderline — we honestly assess economic viability during diagnostic.
Does Series 6 still get watchOS updates?
Yes as of writing — Series 6 with the S6 chip still receives current watchOS. End of full support is expected around 2026-2027. Functions will continue working with last supported watchOS even after end of support.
Are Series 6 parts still available?
Yes — we maintain stock of OEM-grade Series 6 parts. Specialty parts may have 2-3 day sourcing. Parts availability remains good and is not expected to be a problem for 2-3 more years.
Will my Series 6 still be water resistant after repair?
Honest answer: Series 6 seals are 5 years old and any opened Apple Watch has reduced water resistance vs factory new. We use professional cold-press resealing. Splashes and rain remain fine. We strongly recommend avoiding all swimming, surfing, hot tubs, and steam rooms post-repair.
Should I just upgrade to Series 11 or SE 3?
