Case cold-press resealed for water resistance. Final QC: button click test, press-and-hold test, force-touch verification on supported models.

Apple Watch side button repair — frequently asked questions
How much does Apple Watch side button repair cost?
Pricing depends on your model. Series 1/2/3 is R600. Series 4/5 is R800. Series 6, SE, and SE 2 are R900. Series 7/8/9 is R1,000. Series 10 and SE 3 are R1,100. Series 11 is R1,200. Apple Watch Ultra (including Action Button repair) is R1,500. We confirm exact pricing after free diagnostic.
Why is my Apple Watch side button stuck?
Most common cause is sweat and corrosion ingress around the button shaft. Sweat dries inside the button mechanism, salt crystallises, and the button physically seizes. Less commonly, the internal switch dome breaks from repeated heavy presses. Both are repairable — we replace the full button assembly.
Can you repair the Action Button on Apple Watch Ultra?
Yes. Apple Watch Ultra Action Button (the orange button on the side opposite the Crown) is a different module from standard side buttons but we stock OEM-grade replacement units for all three Ultra generations (Ultra, Ultra 2, Ultra 3). Same R1,500 price covers either side button or Action Button repair on Ultra.
My side button presses but does not register — what is wrong?
Almost always a failed internal switch contact. The button still feels normal because the tactile dome works, but the electrical contact underneath has worn out or corroded. Replacement is the only repair — switch contacts are not serviceable individually. We replace the full assembly with new gasket.
Will my Watch be water resistant after button repair?
Honest answer: any opened Apple Watch will have reduced water resistance compared to factory new. We replace the button gasket and cold-press reseal the case to restore resistance as effectively as possible. Splashes and rain remain fine; we recommend avoiding swimming, surfing, hot tubs, and steam rooms post-repair.
How long does side button repair take?
Most side button repairs are completed within 24–48 hours. For nationwide repairs via The Courier Guy, total turnaround is 2–3 working days door-to-door on overnight, 5–7 on standard.
Do you offer a warranty on side button repairs?
Yes — all Apple Watch side button and Action Button repairs at iAssist are covered by a 6-month warranty on parts and labour. If the button fault recurs within six months, we fix it at no charge.
Can you do side button repair if I am not in Gauteng?
Yes — we work with The Courier Guy for fully insured nationwide collection and delivery. After we send you a fixed-price quote, The Courier Guy collects from your door. Total turnaround 2–3 working days for overnight, 5–7 for standard.
