Touch Bar failure — A2338 M2 13-inch only
The M2 13-inch A2338 is the last MacBook Pro with Touch Bar. Black Touch Bar, frozen Touch Bar, or dead Touch Bar strip. Touch Bar assembly replacement or software SMC reset.
Touch ID pairing after topcase replacement
Secure Enclave pairing is broken by topcase replacement on all M-series. Apple Configurator re-pairing required post-topcase repair.
MagSafe 3 port — M2 Pro and Max only
A2779 and A2780 have MagSafe 3. The A2338 13-inch has USB-C only — no MagSafe. MagSafe 3 pin damage or lint compaction stops charging.

The M2 13-inch uses USB-C charging only — no MagSafe port. USB-C board replacement if port fails.
Liquid damage — soldered SSD

14/16-inch ProMotion assemblies are significantly more expensive than the 13-inch Retina panel on A2338. Screen protection recommended.
