Both speakers completely dead — no sound at all

Both channels failing simultaneously points to a board-level fault — a blown audio IC or failed audio power rail. Replacing the speakers will not fix this. iAssist replaces the IC at component level under microscope. Significantly cheaper than a new logic board.

Crackle after a liquid spill

Even a small spill near the speaker grilles damages the cone or corrodes the audio circuit on the board. Ultrasonic board clean plus speaker replacement if the cone is damaged.

One speaker working, one completely silent

Single-channel failure is usually a dead speaker rather than a board fault. Speaker replacement is straightforward on all MacBook Air models.

Audio through headphones fine — but no speakers
