Across the 11-inch Pro line, the single biggest repair-relevant split is the display generation: 2018–2022 models (11-inch Pro, M1, M2) use an LCD ProMotion panel, while M4 and M5 moved to Tandem OLED. LCD panels are more forgiving of a glass-only refurb; OLED panels are thinner, more expensive, and more likely to need full assembly replacement if the backlight layer is disturbed — so knowing which generation you have changes both the price and the repair method before we even open the unit.

Modular USB-C port damage
All 11-inch iPad Pro models have a modular USB-C port on a daughterboard — direct swap for R2,500. No micro-soldering, faster turnaround, lower risk than soldered port repair.
ProMotion screen cracked — 1st to 4th gen
Full assembly replacement available. iAssist also offers glass-only repair using our OCA lamination machine — we remove the broken glass, fit OEM-grade glass, and re-laminate, keeping your original Apple ProMotion LCD intact. Takes 3–5 days. Face ID sensor array preserved. Apple Pencil sensitivity confirmed after fitting.
OLED screen damage — M4 or M5 (2024–2025)
Tandem OLED on M4 and M5. Full assembly replacement available. Glass-only repair using our lamination machine is also possible — keeps original Apple OLED panel, significantly reduces parts cost. Assessment and written quote before any work. Face ID and Apple Pencil Pro preserved.
Face ID stopped working
Usually a damaged or disconnected TrueDepth flex cable rather than the sensor itself. Diagnostic confirms before repair. If the sensor array has failed, we advise honestly on what can be restored.
Charging IC fault — won't charge
Charging symbol present but battery never increases. Charging IC on logic board has failed. Micro-soldering component replacement.
Battery draining fast or Service Recommended
All 11-inch Pro models carry large batteries that degrade with heavy use. Replacement restores full runtime and removes throttling caused by low battery health.
Logic board fault — no power or boot loop
Component-level micro-soldering for no-power, crash, and boot loop faults on all 11-inch generations.

Touch replacement also available on any model if the digitizer has failed. ⚠ Note: Very badly shattered glass can sometimes damage the touch layer during removal — we assess after glass removal and advise you before doing any additional work. Your Apple LCD/OLED is never at risk.

Which iPad Pro models are 11-inch?
The 11-inch iPad Pro launched in 2018 (1st gen, A12X) replacing the 10.5-inch. Subsequent generations: 2nd gen 2020 (A12Z), 3rd gen 2021 (M1), 4th gen 2022 (M2), 5th gen 2024 (M4 — first OLED), 6th gen 2025 (M5). All use USB-C and Face ID.
Is the iPad Pro 11-inch USB-C port modular?
Yes — on all generations. The USB-C port on every 11-inch iPad Pro sits on a daughterboard that physically detaches. Direct port swap for R2,500 — no micro-soldering required.
Will Face ID work after an 11-inch iPad Pro screen replacement?
Face ID uses the TrueDepth camera system embedded in the display assembly. We carefully preserve these sensors during screen replacement. If the sensors are undamaged, Face ID functions normally after repair.
What is the difference between the M4 OLED and earlier ProMotion screens?
The M4 11-inch iPad Pro (2024) uses a Tandem OLED display — thinner, brighter, and higher contrast than the Liquid Retina ProMotion on 1st–4th gen models. Replacement assemblies for OLED are at a premium and priced by assessment.
Does the 11-inch iPad Pro support Apple Pencil?
1st and 2nd gen: Apple Pencil 2nd gen. 3rd and 4th gen M1/M2: Apple Pencil 2nd gen. M4 and M5: Apple Pencil Pro. We ensure Pencil sensitivity is fully preserved after screen replacement.
How long does 11-inch iPad Pro screen repair take?
48–72 hours. The ProMotion display and Face ID sensor array require more care than simpler iPad models.
Can the 10.5-inch iPad Pro be repaired the same way?
The 10.5-inch iPad Pro (2017) uses a Lightning connector and a ProMotion display without Face ID. It is a different repair to the 11-inch but we cover it on the iPad Pro 11-inch page as the closest related model.
Is iPad Pro 11-inch 1st gen (2018) worth repairing?
Yes. The 2018 11-inch was a landmark device and still performs well. Screen and battery repairs at a fraction of replacement cost make good financial sense.
What is the charging IC fault on iPad Pro 11?
The charging IC manages all power delivery. When it fails the iPad won't charge despite a good port and battery. Micro-soldering repair to replace the IC at component level.
