The single biggest factor in whether a liquid-damaged iPad survives is how quickly it's brought in before the corrosion progresses — power should stay off and charging should never be attempted once a spill is suspected, since applying power across a shorted or corroding trace is what turns a recoverable fault into board-level damage. Our process starts with ultrasonic cleaning to remove residue and corrosion, followed by board-level testing to isolate any component that failed as a result of the exposure.

Water damage situations we see every day
iPad exposed to water — act immediately
Do not turn on, charge, or dry with heat. Turn off immediately if still on. Bring in within 24 hours for the best recovery rate. Every hour of delay allows corrosion to spread further across the board.
iPad was in salt water or pool
Salt water and pool chemicals are significantly more corrosive than fresh water. Same urgent procedure — turn off, do not charge, bring in immediately. Recovery is possible but requires faster action.
iPad works after water but acting strange
An iPad that survived a water incident but is now glitching, dropping Wi-Fi, having touch issues, or running hot has internal corrosion spreading. Bring it in before a component fails completely.
iPad won't charge after liquid damage
Corrosion on the charging port or charging IC is the most common post-liquid-damage fault. Ultrasonic cleaning followed by port or IC repair where required.
Screen issues after water exposure
Liquid inside the display causes dark spots, bleed, or discolouration. If the LCD has been damaged by liquid, it needs replacement after the board is cleaned and confirmed working.
iPad turned on after water damage and now dead
Powering on a wet iPad is the most common way to cause permanent board damage — electricity and water cause immediate short circuits and burn out ICs. Recovery is still attempted but success rate is lower than for iPads that were not powered on after the incident.
