iPad Mini issues we repair every day
Cracked glass — Mini 2 to 5 (glass-only option)
Mini 2–5 have non-laminated displays. If the LCD underneath is perfect (no lines, bleed, or dead pixels), glass-only digitizer repair is available at lower cost. Takes 3–5 days for OCA curing.
Cracked screen — Mini 6 or 7 (full assembly)
Mini 6 and 7 have fully laminated displays. Glass cannot be separated — full assembly replacement is available, or glass-only using our OCA lamination machine (3–5 days, preserves original Apple LCD).
Battery draining fast
All Mini generations have relatively small batteries compared to full-size iPads. Battery degradation shows faster. Replacement restores full runtime.
Side button Touch ID not working — Mini 6 / 7
The side power button on Mini 6 and 7 contains Touch ID. If this button fails, both power control and fingerprint authentication are affected.
Charging port fault
Mini models have soldered Lightning (Mini 2–5) or USB-C (Mini 6–7) ports requiring micro-soldering repair.

iAssist has a professional OCA lamination machine — we refurbish cracked glass on any iPad generation, keeping the original Apple LCD or OLED intact. Touch replacement also available on any model if the digitizer has failed. ⚠ Note: Very badly shattered glass can sometimes damage the touch layer during removal — we assess after glass removal and advise you before doing any additional work. Your Apple LCD/OLED is never at risk.

What iPad Mini do I have?
Settings → General → About → Model Number. Mini 2 and 3 are 7.9-inch. Mini 4 and 5 are 7.9-inch. Mini 6 and 7 are 8.3-inch with USB-C.
Does iPad Mini 6 or 7 have a laminated display?
Yes. Mini 6 and 7 have fully laminated displays — glass-only repair is not possible. Only full assembly replacement is available.
Can older iPad Mini (2–5) get glass-only repair?
Yes. Mini 2 through 5 have non-laminated displays where the glass digitizer is separate from the LCD. If the LCD is undamaged, glass-only repair is available at a lower cost.
Does iPad Mini 6 have Touch ID?
Yes. The iPad Mini 6 and 7 have Touch ID in the side power button — not a Home button. If the side button fails, both power control and fingerprint authentication are affected.
Does iPad Mini 6 support Apple Pencil?
iPad Mini 6 and 7 support Apple Pencil 2nd generation. Mini 5 supports Apple Pencil 1st generation. Mini 2–4 do not natively support Apple Pencil.
Is the charging port on iPad Mini modular?
No. All iPad Mini models have soldered Lightning or USB-C ports requiring micro-soldering for repair.
Is iPad Mini 5 worth repairing?
Yes. The Mini 5 is a compact and capable device. Screen and battery repairs are cost-effective compared to replacement.
What is the display size on Mini 6 and 7?
Both are 8.3-inch Liquid Retina displays with True Tone and wide colour. Larger than the 7.9-inch screens on Mini 2–5.
How long does iPad Mini repair take?
Screen and battery 24–48 hours. Glass-only (Mini 2–5) 3–5 days.
Do you repair iPad Mini 2 and 3?
Yes. Parts availability is good for Mini 2–4. We repair all Mini generations.
