iPad not charging at all
If the iPad shows no charging symbol with a known-good cable and charger, the fault is likely a damaged port, compacted lint, a faulty charging IC, or a dead battery. Free diagnostic confirms the exact cause before any work begins.
Charging IC fault — charges but battery won't increase
A charging symbol with no battery increase (or very slow increase) indicates the charging IC on the logic board has failed. The port is making contact but the power management circuit is not routing charge to the battery. Micro-soldering repair to replace the charging IC — this is a common fault on all iPad models.
Loose or damaged Lightning / USB-C port
Physical damage, a bent or broken pin inside the port, or a cracked port socket prevents reliable charging. Soldered ports on standard iPad and Air 1–6 require micro-soldering. Modular ports on iPad Pro and Air 7 can be swapped directly.
Compacted lint blocking the port
Lint from pockets and bags compacts into Lightning and USB-C ports over time, preventing the cable from seating fully. We clean ports as part of the free diagnostic — often this alone restores charging without needing a repair.
iPad charges only in certain positions
If the iPad only charges when the cable is held at a specific angle, a pin inside the port is bent or partially broken. Micro-soldering to repair or replace the port.
Water-damaged charging port
Corrosion inside the port from liquid exposure prevents charging contact. Ultrasonic cleaning and port replacement where required.
