🍎 Apple Watch — one of the only specialist repair workshops in South Africa

Apple Watch repair is the most underserved category in South African device repair. The tools, parts, and skills required are beyond most workshops — which is why clients courier Apple Watches to iAssist from Cape Town, Durban, Polokwane, Kimberley, and everywhere in between. We repair screens, batteries, the Digital Crown, water damage, and board-level faults on all Apple Watch models.

Glass-only Apple Watch screen refurbishment: if the internal LCD is undamaged — no dead pixels, no bleed, no lines — we can replace just the cracked glass using our OCA lamination machine, keeping your original Apple display intact. This is significantly cheaper than a full screen assembly replacement. We assess the display on arrival and advise you before quoting. Collection from your door via The Courier Guy, fully insured.

Repairs we receive from across South Africa

Level 3 repairs that local shops decline — the reason out-of-province clients courier to iAssist.

Logic board & no power

The most common repair we receive from out-of-province clients. MacBook Pro no power, iPhone board fault, iPad charging IC — micro-soldering repairs that most South African shops cannot perform. If your local shop has turned your device away, contact us before replacing it.

MacBook board-level repair

Dead MacBook Pro is the most common device couriered to iAssist from across South Africa. No power, liquid damage, charging IC failure, backlight fault — component-level micro-soldering on all MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models including M1, M2, M3, M4, and M5.

Apple Watch — nationwide

Apple Watch repair for clients across all 9 provinces. Virtually no specialist Apple Watch repair exists outside Johannesburg. iAssist repairs all models — screen, battery, Digital Crown, water damage, board-level faults. Collection via The Courier Guy from your door anywhere in South Africa.

Liquid damage recovery

Ultrasonic cleaning and component-level board recovery on all Apple devices. Do not power on a wet device. WhatsApp us immediately and arrange overnight courier — recovery rate drops significantly with every hour of delay.

iPhone & iPad Level 3

iPhone logic board, Face ID faults, NAND data recovery. iPad soldered charging port micro-soldering, backlight IC, no-display faults, logic board. DFU loop and persistent bootloop that indicates hardware failure rather than software. All repaired at component level.

Data recovery

iPhone, iPad, and MacBook data recovery. NAND micro-soldering for mobile device data extraction. MacBook SSD recovery from failed drives. No data, no charge — you only pay if we successfully recover your files.

Need Apple repair collected from outside Gauteng? View our nationwide Apple repair courier service via The Courier Guy →

Step 1 — WhatsApp us

Frequently asked questions

How does nationwide Apple repair collection work?

WhatsApp iAssist on 078 742 4769 with your device model and fault description. We assess whether your repair is suitable for courier. Once confirmed, drop your device at any The Courier Guy branch or arrange door collection from your address. We repair it in our Johannesburg workshop and return it via The Courier Guy fully insured. You choose overnight (R180–R250 one way) or standard delivery (R120–R160 one way) — cost added to your invoice.

Which devices do you repair from outside Johannesburg?

All Apple devices — iPhone, iPad (all models including Pro, Air, Mini), MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iMac, Mac Mini, Mac Pro, and Apple Watch. We focus on Level 3 repairs for out-of-province clients — board-level micro-soldering, liquid damage recovery, no-power faults, charging IC, Apple Watch specialist repair, and data recovery. Battery and screen replacements are better done locally.

What is a Level 3 Apple repair?

Level 1 is accessories and basic servicing. Level 2 is part replacement — screens, batteries, charging cables. Level 3 is component-level board repair — micro-soldering individual ICs, replacing charging circuits, repairing NAND storage, recovering liquid-damaged boards. Most South African repair shops only offer Level 1 and 2. iAssist performs Level 3 work on all Apple devices.

Do you repair Apple Watch anywhere in South Africa?

Yes — Apple Watch is one of the most underserved repair categories in South Africa. Very few workshops in the country have the tools, parts, or skills to repair Apple Watch at component level. iAssist repairs all Apple Watch models for clients across all 9 provinces — screen, battery, Digital Crown, water damage, and board-level faults. Collection via The Courier Guy from your door.

Is the diagnostic free for out-of-province clients?

Yes — the diagnostic is always free regardless of where you are in South Africa. If your device cannot be repaired, you pay only the return courier cost. Nothing else. We provide a written assessment before any work begins and you decide whether to proceed.

How should I pack my device for courier?

Wrap the device in bubble wrap, place in a sturdy cardboard box with foam or thick padding on all sides, seal with packing tape. Declare the full device value at The Courier Guy counter for transit insurance. iAssist photographs every device on arrival to document condition but cannot be liable for damage caused during transit. WhatsApp us if you need packing guidance before sending.

My device has been declared unrepairable — is iAssist worth trying?

Very often yes. Most South African repair shops do not have micro-soldering capability and correctly decline board-level faults they cannot fix — this does not mean the device is truly unrepairable. iAssist regularly repairs devices that other workshops have turned away. Send us your fault description via WhatsApp and we will tell you honestly whether it is worth attempting before you spend anything on courier.

What are the courier costs and options?

You choose overnight or standard delivery when you book. Overnight: approximately R180–R250 one way depending on your location. Standard: approximately R120–R160 one way. Both directions (collection and return) are charged — iAssist confirms the exact cost for your location before collection is booked and adds it to your final invoice. The diagnostic is free — you only pay courier and repair costs.

How long does the full repair turnaround take?

Transit from most provinces: 1–3 business days each way. Diagnostic: same day as arrival. Repair: 1–5 business days depending on complexity. Total typical turnaround: 7–14 business days. Complex board repairs or sourcing specialist parts may take longer — all timelines confirmed before work begins. Overnight courier reduces transit time to next business day each way.

Do you offer a warranty on repairs for clients outside Gauteng?

Yes — all repairs carry a 6-month warranty on parts and workmanship regardless of your location in South Africa. If a fault related to the repair occurs within 6 months, courier the device back and we repair it at no charge. Return courier costs for warranty claims are covered by iAssist.
