Bass speaker distortion on 14/16-inch models

Audio through headphones only — internal speakers silent

How do I know if it is the speaker or the logic board?
If one speaker crackles and the other is fine, it is almost certainly the speaker. If both fail simultaneously — especially after a spill — the audio IC on the logic board is the likely fault. iAssist diagnoses at component level before quoting.
