Is a stiff MacBook Pro hinge dangerous?
Yes over time. A stiff hinge strains the display cable running through the hinge point. On 2016 MacBook Pros this cable is already in a tight radius — a stiff hinge accelerates cable failure causing backlight loss or display lines. Repair before it reaches that point.
Can a MacBook Pro hinge be repaired without replacing the screen?
Hinge adjustment and bracket replacement are independent of the display on most models. Only if the hinge damage has also damaged the display cable is screen replacement required.
My MacBook Pro was dropped and has a dent — does it affect performance?
Cosmetic dents on the lid or bottom case don't affect performance unless the dent has bent the chassis inward and is pressing on internal components. Physical assessment confirms.
Can you fix a bent MacBook Pro chassis?

Why does the 2016 MacBook Pro have display cable problems?
